Today's Lesson: Where You Left Off with Your Training Impacts Where You Start Back Up

What Went Down...
It Felt Great!
30 Minutes of low-intensity form-focused skating felt like a breeze!
At the end of that 30 minutes my back started to feel tired so I cut myself off (trying to always keep goal #3 in mind and not overdo it).
So Why Did Running for 5 Minutes Feel so Terrible Compared to 30 Minutes of Skating?
Training! I stopped running much earlier in my pregnancy than skating (don't freak out, my Dr. said it was fine) and that meant that I was returning to an activity that my body was much better accustomed to.
Respect that your experience matters and how long you've taken off from something impacts the pace with which you can return to it. For me, I think it would be easy to get going with 45-minute sessions of low-key skating, but it will probably be a few months before I can do a comparable running workout.
